Canna Cannazym – Enzyme preparation (250 ml / 1 L / 5 L / 10 L)
Breaks down dead root material and activates micro-organisms
Canna Cannazym
CANNAZYM is a soil improver that increases the plant's resistance. This very popular product is a high-quality enzyme preparation that breaks down dead root material and prevents root rot. This creates space for the remaining roots, which are supplied with sufficient oxygen.
CANNAZYM also contains vitamins that promote plant development. This leads to better nutrient uptake and increases the plant's resistance to pathogens.
2-step enzyme test – do it yourself
Which enzyme products are used in growing? By: Ing. D. Kroeze, CANNA Research
Throughout its life, a plant continually produces new roots while others die off. This die-off not only creates a source of infection, it also fills valuable space with dead roots instead of air. Enzyme products are used in growing to break up the dead roots (clusters of root cells). Good enzyme products are also able to break down these clusters of root cells. This not only creates space for air, but also allows the plant to absorb the nutrients released. An added advantage is that the substrates used for growing can be reused.
What exactly are enzymes and what precisely do they do? Enzymes are a kind of intangible particle that can only be detected with suitable laboratory equipment. With this guide we show you how to easily detect enzymes at home, so you can check for yourself whether your product contains the right enzymes.
What are enzymes?
Enzymes are proteins with a very specific function: they can build up and break down substances. Each enzyme has a specific function and can usually build up or break down only one type of substance. When an enzyme performs this function it is not used up and can carry out the same reaction tens of thousands of times. Without enzymes our world would be completely different. Enzymes are used to make numerous products, such as bread, cheese or beer.
Enzymes used in growing must in any case be able to break down dead plant residues. Plant residues consist of cells held together by a kind of glue. To break down the residues, the glue between the cells must therefore first be dissolved and then the cells destroyed. This requires many different enzymes, two of which are indispensable. One enzyme dissolves the glue between the cells, another destroys the cell walls. These enzymes mainly do the rough preliminary work. Other enzymes are needed besides these two, but without these two an enzyme product would be ineffective. If you want to know whether these enzymes are present in the product you use, you can easily check this with items available at the supermarket. You need to carry out two tests in the correct order. If both tests are positive, both enzymes are present and the product is genuinely able to break down dead plant residues.
Available sizes: 250 ml, 1 L, 5 L, 10 L.
